Swimming with seals

This weekend, Bruno and some friends of ours, Peter James and Cat Noonan went to Bodalla. One of the highlights of the trip was our swimming with seals adventure. We went out to Montague Island and snorkelled past some amazing seals. We also saw several large black sting rays, at least a meter across, when we were walking on the boardwalk at Narooma. Here's a quick illustration.

New excursions in Flash
The Phoenix is said to rise again from the fire.
I'm learning how to draw in Flash. My line work needs attention, but when I shrink the image it looks passable; a trick to remember for next time?

I'm learning Flash again
I'm learning Flash MX ... it has been a while and I'm rusty, really rusty. I'm starting right at the beginning. This time I don't just want to know it intuitively, I need to know it implicitly. This is a short sketch I knocked up this afternoon. One thing I've found about learning is that I need to be have a project in mind as I learn, so that I can apply what I am learning in theory to something with a real practical outcome. Once I get a grip on this beast, I will start out by making some of the images at
www.acupuncture.net.au animate. A Japanese style is both suited to the look and feel of this site, as well as to the flat graphic style that Flash does so well.
